Race Through the Generations
"Race Through the Generations" (RTTG) is our follow up project to “Back to the Future” project. The project started in August 2013 and finished in August 2014. RTTG was a digital storytelling project thattakes an internal look at how Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) individuals and communities in Bristol and Gloucester define and understand the concept of race and racial heritage. Below you will find information on our new project as told through the digital stories of BME individuals through different generations.
Digitial Stories From The Community
How do you identify yourself racially/ethnically and how does that impact your sense of self/community? That is the overall theme of our “Race Through the Generations” HLF funded project. On the following pages you will find the digital stories the young people trained for this project completed in Bristol and Gloucester over the past year.
Digital Stories From Our Young People
While being trained to conduct the interviews and create the digital stories for this project, we turned the cameras on the young people themselves to see how they understood and lived their racial/ethnic identity. Below are their stories.
